covid-19 protocols

Dear patients:

We are committed to ensuring that your eye health is monitored appropriately during the COVID-19 pandemic. Appointments for Dr. Cabrera will be arranged by the secretary when we contact you. The following protocols have been put in place to ensure quick visits, minimal waiting, and safety

PARKING: Free parking is available in the rear of the building off Gale Crescent. We are located ground level through the doors on the right-hand side. Please park in one of Dr. Cabrera’s designated parking spots or any unmarked spot closest to the building.  Upon arriving for the appointment, please remain in your vehicle and call the office to notify us where you have parked. Patients sitting in their cars will be notified by telephone or in-person on when to come into the office with your face mask on. Therefore, ensure your phone volume switch is turned on to high so you can hear the ring.

IN-OFFICE: Dr. Cabrera wants you to be able to come into the office without having to touch anything at all with your hands. All doors from the parking lot to the inside of the office will be already open for you. Therefore, all you need to do is keep your hands to yourself, in your pocket or on your lap throughout the visit.

As soon as you enter the office door, hand sanitizer and temperature are taken. You will be asked to come into the office alone, without a companion.  You will be the only patient in the office and the only person you will be seeing will be Dr. Cabrera. You will not be seeing his secretary because I will communicate with the secretary by phone.  The entire office is HEPA filtered.

BRING THE FOLLOWING: Face mask on, valid OHIP card, list of medications/allergies, a driver or bring sunglasses as eyes may be dilated, current prescription eyeglasses (Do not wear contact lenses)

PLEASE NOTE: We try to run according to our appointment times, but possible delays may arise. We require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations to avoid a missed consult fee of $80. If you are experiencing cold/flu-like symptoms on the day of your appointment, please call the office to rebook with no penalty.

All the best for your health and welfare,

Dr. Cabrera
